| (Regionals) After
being held scoreless on two hits through
six innings, Northern's baseball team
started the top of the seventh inning
of yesterday's Maryland 3A South final
at Severna Park with two walks. After
a flyout, sophomore Logan Coker had
an RBI single to cut Severna Park's
lead to 4-1. With the count 2-0, Severna
Park brought in its ace, senior Chris
Crum, who entered the game with a
13-0 career varsity record. He walked
the first batter, and then allowed
RBI singles to both Adam Hoyt and
Eugene Matullo to make it 4-3. Crum
then struck out the final two batters
with the bases loaded to end the game
and give Severna Park its third region
title in four seasons.
